My personal belief is that marriage should be reaffirmed, but using Scandinavia is not a good example. While the illegitimacy rates there might be correct, they still have a very high literacy rate and do much better than U.S. students in those international education tests. Some years ago I was a character witness at a court of exactly the same case as this where a girl took her wages from the till and left. The company contacted the police and they prosecuted her but she got off! I think it depends who the judge is.

Issues with child support order and father not obeying?

My sister and her ex-husband have been divorced for 3 years. The court order stated that they would share physical custody of their 3 children. In lieu of child support (her ex-husband makes twice her income) he would pay $15,000 a yr in expenses for travel ball for her two boys. His argument to the court was that they were certain to gain schlorships, etc. and the travel baseball was an investment in their future. My sister was completely against this bc she needed actual MONEY to help support them and travel ball was not a necessity. This drug on for over a year and she ran out of money to keep fighting him. The result was that she agreed to the deal. She would get no actual child support money, but he would spend $15,000 a yr on travel ball and also have the kids 1/2 of the time. Since that time, he has pulled them from travel ball completely and only gets them 1 to 2 days a week, if that. My sister is 100% responsible for their finanical upkeep when it comes to clothes, housing, food, etc. He only pays for their health insurance and meals when he has them. She hired a new attorney a few months ago but still hasnt been able to get anywhere with this situation. Her ex-husband has repeatedly found ways to put off the court date. His most recent way was to refuse her attorneys request for his work income info, which resulted in a subpoena for the info and a new court date being set. Just today, he sent her attorney a "discovery request" document asking her a million financial questions. She is more than willing to answer the discovery request but also knows he is doing this to keep putting off the court date. I feel like she needs a new attorney. I want to know if anyone has ever heard of this type of arrangement and also how someone can completely NOT do what a child support order states and get away with it. I know if my sister had been awarded a DIME..child support recovery would be all over it. What should she do to get help in this situation? IT seems like there is no answer for her. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I will share them with her. Thank you

How can i break away from bad friends (im a boy)?

my friends that im with at the moment are not good and im having a few problems, i told them something in the hope they wouldn't tell anybody else but they did infact they told quite a few people and now if they get caught for spreading this they will just blame me for telling them if i break away from them and then i will get in trouble, im trying my best but one of them keeps asking me to go out and pestering me all of the time, he thinks that im still good friends with him and so do the others they dont know how i feel. Communication problem between team members and me?

I have started working on a new project in a team of 4 since last few days. We are in the initial phase where we need to brainstorm design and take decisons. Whenever I go to the meeting I feel as if there is no discussion and the decision is already taken by the other 2 people before they come to the meeting. Keurig coffee pods- any reason I can't empty one into a french press in lieu of the machine?

The machine is too much money plus it would clutter up my counter. I use a french press, but I tasted the Wolfgang Puck fair trade coffee and it was THE best coffee I've ever tasted. However, all I can find are the pods for the Keurig machine. I can't think of any reason I wouldn't be able to empty a pod into my french press and add 6 oz. of boiling water (or is it 8?). I keep coming off my diet.?

I became overweight at the age of 11 and started losing weight when I was 13. Then when I was 14 I put it back on. Then when I was 14 nearly 15 I lost weight again really fast, and then gained it back within a few months. By the age of just over 15 and a half I lost weight again and became very skinny. When I was 17 I once again gained it all back plus more and became the heaviest I have ever been weighing 111 kilos. I started dieting at the start of this year and have got down to 89 kilos and still have atleast another 30 kilos to lose. The problem is I keep going off my diet. I will go on my diet for a week then I will come off of it for 3-4 days. So I have stayed at the same weight for about 2 months now, infact I even gained 2 kilos at one point, but lost it again. When I go off my diet I eat so much. I just need help.

Company cell phone instead of raise?

The company I work for has not given out raises in the last year and a half. I received m last raise at that time. Today, while at work, my boss offered me a company iPhone with a company number for my own personal use in lieu of a raise. I told her that I would sleep on it. The more I think about it, the more I feel they are just throwing me a bone so I don't complain about my salary. My dad actually did alternative route to licensure. He had to get accepted first into a program and then he had to convince a principal to hire him on a provisional basis while he completed his credits and took his PRAXIS tests. He was also able to use his teaching as his student teaching. After receiving his license I have not seen any negative repercussions as to how he is treated by administrators. In fact, he now works in the district as a trainer.

If the creek is contaminated what about the drinking wells?

I live near a creek that is contaminated with basically animal poop (coliform). No one swims in it. I just moved to place where our well is nearby. Also, the water contains a lot of sulfur. We either boil it or let it aerate to make it drinkable. My question is, do the bacteria make it down to the well water? If we let it aerate for a couple of day do the bacteria multiply making it worse? I would normally buy water or a filter, but as it is, I'm temporarily poor, poor, poor and hauling water is a hassle on the bus. Should I give up my organic veggies in lieu of a filter or does it matter? Thanks for your help. I'm thirsty and uneducated on the matter. And although you didn't describe it, it sounds like looking at their happy honeymoon picks makes you feel like your relationship is not as happy as theres. Just remember that no one is going to post unhappy pics on facebook and no ones life it perfect. My brother has his grad party coming up and I am at a loss as far as the best way to make a cake for just over 100 people goes. I am thinking of getting the Wilton half-sheet pan (12x18) and either stacking them (one on top of the other) or putting them side by side. The only other large cake I made was a half sheet for my son's birthday last year, and it was a bit of a disaster (it was my first large cake and I didn't have the common sense to trim and frost the edges of the sides I was sticking together.) Here is my thought: either just the double layer cake that would be 12x18x4 with an edible image, or the full sheet (18x24x2) with the Wilton graduation cap on top... What do you guys think would be best? I'm quite nervous about the whole ordeal and will definitely be making a 'smash cake' beforehand... I've read a whole bunch of tricks and tips (parchment paper for sticking, inverted flower pins in lieu of a heating coil, etc....) so now it's just the architecture of the cake to worry about! I have just moved town from Christchurch (NZ) to be with my partner. I have always had problems with depression and anxiety, but lately it's been getting on top of me. But my question is, if for whatever reason the US was able to borrow money in the past (despite the trillions owed to China among others), then why is it in spite of the chagrin of it could the US not also borrow money this time as opposed to an abrupt cut in funding to particular programs in order to avoid a government shutdown? Is there a reason why we could not borrow in this case, for instance did it have to do with a failure to pass a budget (on time) or lack thereof? my sister found a lump in her breast and saw her doctor who referred her to a breast clinic for tests and once there she was given a scan,mammogram and had a biopsy,when she came home she said that after the scan and mammogram the doctors said it was cancer and was malignant but she had to wait a week for the biopsy results which she is getting later today.i along with my family and friends fully support her and are very upset knowing she has cancer especially as she is only 35 but my mother-in-law seems to think that the doctors will not know if the lump is malignant until she has the biopsy result and basically accused my sister of either lying or not knowing what she is talking about and her words have really upset me as i know my sister would never lie about this so i am hoping to prove to my in-laws that infact you can find out before the biopsy results so any help would be great,thanks

A little over a month ago my boyfriend that I lived with for 3 years and was with for about 4 and a half, died unexpectedly due to a car accident. However, one thing that happened that I did not expect was that I received a VERY generous gift from my division at work, in the amount of about $250. It was just a card with a bunch of cash (obviously just had people give whatever they wanted to) and a nice note saying it was for me to use how I wish and to help with any financial situation this might have put me in. At first when I saw it I thought it was a donation to the charity that we had people donate to in lieu of flowers, but again thought it'd be strange that they would be giving me the cash like that instead of a just a note saying they donated...I had to read the note a few times to make sure it was for me. I again received another $100 from an individual employee that I am closer to and another $20 from someone else. One of the managers from one of the other programs also told me she had another card for me that her employees had put together. I am really touched by this but at the same time feel SO weird accepting it and have just never heard of such a thing. I am 25 years old and lived with him so I am sure they are not sure what type of situation this put me in financially, but they also know that I have the support of my parents (maybe just don't know if they can help me financially..but they can and have been). I told my friend at work that if anything is helping me right now it IS not having to worry about money and being able to treat myself, go out a lot with friends, take weekend trips, etc. So in a way I feel like their gift is going toward my well-being in that sense and I do plan on making a donation to the charity. But has anyone heard of such a practice?? I've never had anyone very close to me in my life die so I wasn't sure.
