How can I emigrate to Canada from the US?

I was born in Colombia. I came here at the age of 2. I am now 23 years old and have recently learned that I cannot achieve legal status albeit the option of marriage. The idea does not sit well with me. In lieu of my situation I have sought to emigrate to Canada. I have a Colombian passport that will not expire for another 5 years. My question is: Is it possible for me to emigrate to Canada on the basis of political asylum? Or is it even possible for me to move to Canada at all? What will be the consequences?
