Why do people like being around THEIR OWN?

It's only natural, I feel most comfortable here, being in an all Mexican neighborhood in southern California, to the north is where the blacks are, and west is where the Asians and whites live. When I go to those parts of the city, I don't feel too comfortable but I wouldn't consider myself racist.
