Keurig coffee pods- any reason I can't empty one into a french press in lieu of the machine?

The machine is too much money plus it would clutter up my counter. I use a french press, but I tasted the Wolfgang Puck fair trade coffee and it was THE best coffee I've ever tasted. However, all I can find are the pods for the Keurig machine. I can't think of any reason I wouldn't be able to empty a pod into my french press and add 6 oz. of boiling water (or is it 8?). Anyway, is there some reason I can't?
