Should i have kissed him on the cheek?

so ive been really good friends with a guy for about 7 months now, he classes me as his bestfriend and i class him as my best guy friend.. today we were hanging out for the afternoon with another friend (girl). He was teaching me how to 'fight'. When he said goodbye he put his arms out for a hug (we hug all the time), i hugged him but i decided to kiss him on the cheek aswell....it felt so right but do you think it was a little bit too soon to do that? he didnt react strangly, infact he kissed me back on the cheek!
