So i like this girl how should i handle the situation ?

a couple of friends, this girl I like and myself went out for drinks and my one friend got drunk and told the girl I like her and she should give me a chance. The exact quote was "you should really give him a chance he's a real great guy and will treat you way better than your last boyfriend." And she says "I know he would and I just might." I wasn't around for this conversation but he told me it so what should I do or say to this girl? I do like her but its only been just over two months since she broke up with her boyfriend who I happen to know. Me and the guy are on good terms but don't really talk and he already has a new girlfriend
