Security Deposit refund?

You were free to move out but since your roommate is still there, you dont get your share of the security deposit until the place is either vacant or as the manager said, the new tenant pays his. Most places do not return your security deposit until the apartment has been entirely vacated by both tenants so this manager is doing you a favor.
