Do people know when you delete them as friends on facebook?

my aunt on my dad's side is in florida, she was cool up untill she started reeeally bugging me about not haveing pics of my dad, i've always tried not to let it show around her but my guess is my dad must of told her and made himself off to be the victum. bottum line, for too many reason's to name including a f*cked up childhood, i don't like my dad. infact i don't even consider him as such. i don't treat him badly, i don't even talk to him, i basicly ignore him the way he always did, untill now that he wants attention. but my problem is that i want to delete her off my fb freinds so she could stop giving my sh*t but i don't want her to know and tel my dad so he can give me sh*t. i want to avoid hurting her feelings while avoiding her.so, would she know if i delete her from my friends list?
